This ‘greatest hit’ has brought comfort to many anxious hearts, it calls us to a God of peace and promises us the peace of that same God.

We feel most alive when we are in pursuit of a goal, God has literally wired us this way.

In this greatest hit, Paul eviscerates religion and exposes our only hope.

This is THE greatest hit in Philippians, but we miss the point, the point is: to love like Jesus costs you your life AND gives you your life.

This famous line summarizes Paul’s life.  The murderous religious zealot had been rescued by Jesus and he lived like it.

The salvation that God is accomplishing in His people is to them unnerving, knee-knocking, terrible work.  But it is the work of their freedom, of the death of all that binds and hinders them. It is the work of God.
