Judge not exposes our need for God and His word to discern the real problem and the real solution.

In relationships, judging devastates the possibility of forward progress.  The Scriptures simply say, “Stop it.”  But they also show you why.

We always do what we desire, we desire what we love.  Love God do right, love other stuff you’ll do other stuff.

At the end of the day, you do what you want to.  How can we fix our ‘want to’ to want what God wants.  And how does this affect relationships.

Words construct the relationships we have with one another. Give life with them.

Jesus is the wonderful counselor, the gift of the wisdom of God to the people of God. Jesus in us is the antidote to the natural, self serving instincts from the fallen nature.

Words tear down or build up, God’s way is the latter.

The heart of communications is the desire to hear and understand and stay in a committed loving relationship.

Humility is an essential characteristic of meaningful relationships. Every quarrel and relationship tension will dissolve in the magic solution of Gospel centered humility.

“Seriously, you expect me to trust him after what he has done?!  He’s got a long way to go to earn my trust.”  We’re going to examine this common belief and see if it gets you what you want, to be able to trust again.

Building trust is the act of love that makes a fragile relationship strong.

Forgiveness isn’t an easy topic for most of us. Letting go of blame, shame, and all the emotions buried deep beneath our exterior in any relationship (spouse, friend, parent, etc) is a battle. The powerful and indispensable relationship healing action we all must take is simply this: come clean and forgive your friends when they do.

No matter what comes up in a relationship, in marriage, your life, or the church, we’re on the same team, if the team wins, we win.

In relationships this is THE biggy: you must take responsibility for yourself. Blaming your partner makes it worse.

Many times the foundations of relationships are built wrong, so when the ongoing relationship begins to expose cracks in the walls we look to fix the walls when it’s really a foundation problem.

There are times where we are overwhelmed by our mistakes, we’ll never be the same, we’ll never be happy again.  But God says otherwise… hope for the sinning saint.

Misery loves company, but not miserable company.

Depression is a spectrum problem, that means it is suffered in many varieties and in degrees. We all suffer some forms of it.  God is our helper and wonderful counselor.

I hate ‘to do’ lists. But I have learned that emergency checklists are needed for, well, emergencies.

Sometimes the one thing we think we can’t do is the one thing that we must do and the only thing God is giving us grace to do….GET A GRIP!

Certainty cures anxiety. Period. If I know what is going to happen, I can rest.

Fear’s antidote is trust but it is a specific trust, a trust in love. I am loved so I fear not.

God gives us the spirit that has power over fear.

Ed Welch (the leading Biblical Counseling Professor in America) said fear/anxiety are the most common of all mental ailments.  He said in all his experience and all his cases there are two most effective things you can do.  We’ll talk abt it.

Ever felt afraid or anxious? When your mind is flooded with these thoughts it’s exhausting because fear leads to anxiety and then not being able to recognise why or control the fear, can often lead to depression. Join #crosswind tonight at 5 as we look at what God has to say to our trembling hearts.

My heart and mind problem must be solved by a careful physician, one who knows me and one who can help.

So if my heart is the problem, what motivates it to do good? We need a little heart MOJO.
