Title: The Head of the New Creation

Jesus is head of Creation, but He is also head of the New Creation and for us that changes everything.

Paul shows the Colossians Jesus, more than enough.

The church at Colossae faced an all too familiar problem: was Jesus enough, or do we need other stuff?

Proof in the Pudding

Blurb: I am a Christian; has a proof text: “your life, your practice, your religion.”

Title:  Wisdom Sees the Big Picture

Wisdom from above sees life as it is and holds it loosely and thankfully in its hand.

Title: When Want becomes Demand

Blurb: Many times we want legit things. But want can become sin when it becomes demand.

Title: Two Wisdoms

James sees the world through two lenses, through two wisdoms. In this passage he breaks them down.

It only takes a spark…

James uses three little things that have disproportionate consequences to show the power and effect of the tongue… his wisdom is simple: that little thing must be trained by God, or else.

The Proof is in the Pudding

James makes clear what true faith is and what it is not. True faith shows up in the life of the one who has it. It must, by definition…

What God does on the inside has an effect on the outside. You’re kidding yourself if you think it doesn’t.

James is writing to people who need their faith to be strong, they are going through it.  So do we because so are we.

Hope for Those Who Have Gone Too Far

David’s horrific sin is exposed but it HOW God chooses to do it that is beautiful and powerful and instructive.

Part 2 of the Series: “Tough Nuts to Crack” is a story about a woman who had resigned herself to the broken life had dealt her… and how God got to her.

Some of us are done, we just have been hurt too bad and it’s over.  God told a story about an intervention… and how he broke through.

Jesus’ method was to lead with love and service, and then say things abt Him and His Kingdom. Love opens hearts, Christ fills them with Himself.

Most of us have heard of the good news of forgiveness. But the good news is “gooder” than that.

Ever wonder ‘why church?’  And ever wonder ‘why invite someone to the gathering?’  Promise, you’re gonna see why and it may shake you.

In baptism God is making promises to His people. These promises anchor us on this life and the life to come.

Passion Week exposes our hearts, and, mainly, our unbelief. God help us to believe.

In this familiar story, we will see how Jesus arrests the hearts of those in need and delivers them over to Himself.

Jesus takes His disciples to another understanding of love, a profound one, an exclusively spiritual one.

One class of people Jesus sought out was people oppressed by the devil. How did He minister to them? Can we do likewise?

In this series, we will see who Jesus ministered to and how He ministered to them, so we can follow His lead.

In a neat twist of plot, Paul uses his swan song at the church of Ephesus to cast vision for their church and, for the church.
